In group of 5 according to major, we are first asked to write an 300-word abstract on the topic given.
In my group, there are Chin Wei Yong, Gan Kai Sen, Loh Chin Bok and Yvonne Lai Hui Ying.
As students of QS, we are given topic "Spread factual info to the world".
Before start over our task, we go to see our studiomaster, Dr. Mastura to get the guideline for this project.
Here is our abstract:
Quantity Surveyors are the professionals working in the construction industry concerning the cost of projects. They estimate the project cost by analyzing the architects and endineers designs to make sure the project does not over budgeted. They advised architects and engineers on the cost implication of their design.
As far as what we know, some building materials are expensive and this further increase the product price. As a customer, we'll not be happy when the price of a house is expensive. So, in order to prevent this from happening, we can reduce the cost of production.
This can be done by replace the construction material with bamboo. Bamboos are cheap as it can be obtain in large amount. It's sustainable and is a strong building material. It required low maintenance because it's ery durable. Bamboo can be use for building the component of the house like the door. The most suitable bamboo os bamboo from India as it grows individually which make harvesting a lot easier.
Quantity surveyor need to be strict in choosing the materials. In Japan, they used paper to build temporary school buildings for the earthquake victims. Quantity surveyor has the responsibility to know all this low cost materials and let everyone especially the architects and engineers to know it. They must know about this so that they can design their building with lower cost and sustainable.
How it can be done? Conferences and talks throughout the world can spread the knowledge. For example, the Bamboo Interest Group. RICS is also one of the organisation that can spread all this latest info. Quantity surveyors are not just namely cutting the cost of the project but we must aware of the nature as well. We need to have knowledge to enable us to provide better future to the human being.
This assignment is given by Mr. Rusli, we were asked to make a dymaxion with 20 faces full of our pictures.
Photostat the outline of the dymaxion globe.
Make lines using pencil on the photostated paper for trace.
Finished trace on the card board.
Cut it out.
Make line using steel ruler.
Fold the edges. 
Globe done.
Laser printed picture on 100 gsm paper.
Double sided tape is used to paste the pictures.
Write details on one face of the globe.
