Dome Assembly(24/10/10)

Help in studio before go to the dome site.

The dome construction process was going on under a hot sunny day. There are full of umbrellas around the dome during the construction process.

The scaffolds was failed so we use "man power" to support the whole dome up during the dome construction process.

Here, also a big thank to Dr. Llias for treat us lunch at Subaidah.

Assignment 10C(1): 10 words-Transformation

Intention: Describe the most meaningful transformation that I have personally experienced throughout the Stodio.
Actor: Me
Act: Think and write it on a piece of A4 paper.
Rule: Must be in less than 10 words.
Product: 10 words(think big, think different, think more, think unique, think global)
Place: on paper

Studio change my way of thinking to think more and try to relate everything if possible. I realize that the way we think make us different from others. The more you think, the more you get.

Scaffold & Gangplank(23/10/10)

Final assignment issued on site.

All the knots loosen after the rope dried...

Almost finish our scaffold.

Strut Screwed(22/10/10)

Brief on the program on 25th Oct 2010.

Groups chosen to do presentation.

Mr. Rusli found that there are mistake on the USM lorry "unversiti". He made a joke that how we can jump out of the box if we are all "unversiti"....hahaha...quite funny~

Pay RM10 for the tea time on 25th Oct.

We are asked to screw our struts. I fix my strut since I realize that one of my strut was longer than the actual measurement.

Finally, SCREWED!!!

Assignment 9C: Poster

We are asked to produce a poster to exhibit during the exhibition. We decided to make our poster using photoshop and print it out in A2 size.

Here is our poster. We apply the concept of think out of the box.

Intention: Produce a poster related to soul shift.

Actor: Chin Wei Yong, Gan Kai Sen, Loh Chin Bok, Nelson Wong(Me), Yvonne Lai

Act: Discuss, photoshop, ...

Rule: The poster must be in A2 size.

Product: An A2-sized poster

Place: Will be exhibit during the Soul Shift Exhibition.

Scaffold & Gangplank(21/10/10)

We need to build up a scaffold and a gangplank for each section to help us in the dome construction. As we need to climb high and support during our dome construction.
My hands brushed because of the wet rope and its friction.
After we finish half of the scaffold, we ask En. Wan come and check for it.
The result......REDO......
According to En. Wan, all the knots should be tie tightly and must follow the standard way.

Bamboo Transfer(20/10/10)

Help in bamboo transfer from our old bamboo site to our new site-HBP.

Extra Assignment: Tensegrity

Extra assignment given, we need to make a tensegrity to exhibit with our dymaxion globe.
We found the ratio of the struts and string on http://www.xozzox.com/objects.html.

Measure and mark the length for my strut.

Cut the bamboo according to the length measured.

Struts with same length are done.

knock the hooks into both sides of the struts.

measure the length of the string.

Use mt teeth to strenghten the fishing rope.

My tensegrity done as what I'm expected.

Intention: Make a tensegrity for exhibition.

Rule: The length of the struts must be same, the length of the string must according to the ratio.

Product: A 3-struts tensegrity
