Assignment 6: Survival Kit

Here, our assignment on Raya...


This assignment required us to design survival kit which will be used in IBU using the inventions by USM. Based on the task given, my design will only focus on the survival kit instead of the whole desi
gn of the IBU.

The inventions that I used to apply on my survival kit are:

Water Treatment System
Water is the most important and basic element for us to survive, hence water treatment system to produce clean water is a compulsory on IBU.
This water treatment system is made up of 3 parts which is the ClaySorb Adsorption Treatment, Nanofiltration Treatment and BioPHA.

ClaySorb Adsorption Treatment
  • ClaySorb which used in this adsorption treatment is very effective to absorb different toxic pollutants from wastewater.
  • It is much cheaper than commercial activated carbon.
  • It is easily prepared using economically processing techniques.
  • It is easily stored and extremely stable under high impact

Nanofiltration Treatment

  • Negligible amount of chemicals
  • requires small treatment area
  • is hassle-free
  • is rigid and suitable for all seasons
  • Highly rejects pesticides and metal contaminants due to its small pore size
  • Ensure continuous clean and safe drinking water for people

BioPHA

  • BioPHA is an Eco-friendly probe
  • It is made of disposable, zero-waste material
  • It is used to monitor the performance of wastewater treatment


Bakery Machine
Bread will be the main food in the IBU. Bread is selected because it is easy to pocess and eaten by all age groups.
The 4 main ingredients use to make bread on IBU are Jackfruit seed flour, Pumpkin flour and Cempedak seed flour.


Jackfruit seed flour
  • Jackfruit seed flour is a good source of dietary fibre, protein and resistant starch.
  • As a dietary fibre source, it helps to prevent constipation.

Pumpkin flour

  • Pumpkin flour has a longer shelf-life.
  • The yellow colour of the flour is used as natural colourant in foods.
  • It also provides a valuable source of carotenoids, which add as provitamin A and as antioxidant.

Cempedak seed flour

  • Cempedak seed flour is a good source of total dietary fibre and resistant starch
  • It maintain the eating qualities of white bread yet providing the dietary fibre.


Haruan Spray

There should have Haruan Spray in the first aid kit.
  • Haruan contains all essential amino acids and unique fatty acids which are able to accelerate wound healing.
  • Spraying the aerosol reduces pain that otherwise will result from the mechanical ribbing of cream or gel.
  • Aerosal's production process is sterile.
  • Biocompatible polymer in aerosol concentration will produce a layer of film when sprated onto the injures area which can cover any size of wound and stop bleeding.
  • Has soothing effect and comfortable on the skin
  • Does not disturb wound bed on removal of the film


Dielectric Antenna

This dieletric antenna is used for wireless application between IBU and others pondok.
  • Dieletric resonator antennas antennas can have a wider impedance bandwidth than microstrip patches, a very high radiation efficiency, smaller than conventional metal antennas and more resistant to proximity detuning when placed close to another object.
  • This antenna has a big potential in wireless applications.
  • This will help the in communication between IBU and all pondoks


Aqua VideoT
Aqua Marine Video Enhancement Tool(AquaVideoT) can help the IBU to identify the location by understanding the situation under the sea.
  • AquaVideoT has been developed to overcome problems faced by marine videos and pictures.
  • It can also use to check the base of the IBU.


FireBuster
FireBuster is an automatic fire detection system for the safety of IBU.
  • FireBuster is a state-of-the art automatic fire detection system integrated into a surveilance camera sistem.
  • It is designed to identify a developing fire emergency in a timely manner, and immediate alert the building's occupants for an emergency evacuation.


This figure shows the main structure in the IBU:
  • Water Treatment System is located under IBU in order to save the space.
  • The bakery machine is placed on the upper floor to decrease the separation of heat in IBU.
  • First aid kit and FireBuster should have at every floors.
